I loved the promise of Zenmed Skin Eraser. As you know I absolutely want to get rid of my acne scars, the dark spots that won’t go away. So I tried the Zenmed Skin Eraser Kit. Here’s what it is supposed to do:
The Skin Eraser Kit consists of:
Renewing Microdermabrasion Complex
This granular formulation is based in a mineral-heavy clay designed specifically to provide intensive dermabrasion on the surface of the skin. Does not leave any residue or greasiness. Ideal for use before treatments such as the Skin Eraser as it allows for better penetration of actives and more rapid exfoliation.
Ascorbic-Glycolic-Lactic acid fortified treatment effectively exfoliates the upper layers of the skin helping minimize imperfections, dullness, hyperpigmentation, discoloration, bumpiness and fine lines and wrinkles. Esthetician-grade 30% Glycolic Acid, pH 3.5.
It costs 59.99$ and, as you might have noticed by now, I will spend any amount to clear the dark spots in my face. It wasn’t cheap but I still did not hesitate.
Why did I buy it? Because it promised the fading of scars after just one treatment… Naive, I know.
Now, the product is not bad but I have come to believe that I have super resistant bionic skin so I did not see any special results. It didn’t make my skin worse (actually it did make it quite smooth) but it did not even begin to tackle my dark spots issue.
How does it work?
You start by using it twice a week, before bed. First use the microdermabrasion scrub then apply the Skin Eraser gel. Your skin doesn’t react too strongly? No excessive tingling, burning? Great! You can move on. Use the kit for 5 nights in a row, take 5 days off. You now have to maintain using the kit once a week until you achieve desired results.
I followed the directions and although I did feel the effect of the microdermabrasion scrub on my skin (it was indeed smoother) I did not see any other improvement. I also have to say that the nightly scrubbing routine maybe was a bit heavy for me. I am not a lover of make up removal at night, so adding this to my routine made me a bit grumpy.
I believe some results can be achieved with this product (I have read some fabulous reviews) but it did not work for me. I am not sure I have been patient enough (I did it 6 weeks) but the routine didn’t appeal to me either. Doesn’t smell good, doesn’t feel great…I didn’t keep it up. I do use the scrub from time to time when showering to keep benefiting from its smoothing effect but that is all. Would I recommend it? For 59.99$ + tax and shipping, alas, no.
If you’ve had better results with it, please share your story!:)
