I would do anything to destroy them. Get rid of them. Although I hate acne, at least after a few days pimples disappear. Dark spots on the other end? They will linger for-friggin-ever.
So, yeah, I am always on the lookout for good products to fade dark spots and I have been having some good results lately thanks to the combined effect of my DIY toner and Vichy ProEVEN Advanced Daily Dark Spot Corrector.
The DIY toner consists of apple cider vinegar and witch hazel and it has been helping me keep my breakouts to a minimum. Apple cider vinegar promotes a gentle exfoliation of skin and I believe it has helped the active ingredients in the Vichy ProEVEN Advanced Daily Dark Spot Corrector do their magic.
I have been using this corrector twice a day for over 4 weeks now and have noticed a great improvement in my dark spots. As I usually do when reviewing dark spots correctors, I monitor one specific dark spot and see how it evolves. In this case the “control dark spot”has faded to the point of almost completely disappearing (I’d say it’s 85 to 90% gone).
I have never had results this quick with any other treatment (or combination of treatments) before.
Now, the real question is, would it have worked this quickly without the DIY toner. I cannot tell. But since the DIY toner is pretty much free (ok it’s not free but it is VERY cheap) I’d say there is no harm in trying both together as I have personally had great success with this combination.
ProEVEN Advanced is a light cream with a nice fresh scent. It penetrates skin easily leaving it supple and soft. Vichy recommends using it after cleansing and toning and before applying a moisturizer with SPF. As you must know by now, if you are fighting dark spots and discolouration (and no matter your skin tone and ethnicity) using sun protection is a must.
I definitely recommend this treatment because it worked for me. It is a bit pricey at 48.50$ but I have spent more in the past for products that ended up being less effective…so I suggest you give it a go!
Buy it at Shoppers Drugmart, Jean Coutu! I could not find an online retailer that carries it unfortunately :)
