I told you about it here and here, Lise Watier has a new collection out and I was lucky enough to be able to test and review a few of them. Here I’ll tell you about some of the other products from the Summer Sunset Collection. These products are all Limited Editions and will be available from now until July 2012 at drugstores and department stores. My general opinion is that it’s a good collection. I like these products, I like the innovative packaging and their general performance. I also think that they’re on the pricey side but I have to admit that the quality is good. If you have a bit of money left in your Cosmetics Budget and have to choose then I suggest you try Jumbo Eye Pencil and Bronzer first. Read on to know why.
Tropical Eyeshadow Palette – 38$
Lise Watier’s Summer Sunset Eyeshadow Palettes come in a very original package. It looks like a cute little cushioned clutch in the colors of the Summer Sunset Collection. The palette is removable so you can actually use it as a wallet or card case which, again, is a fun packaging idea by Lise Watier.
This palette has 6 eyeshadow shades: warm browns, reds and golds for the Tropical Palette; cool purples, browns and blues for the Paradis Palette. I received the Tropical Palette and I like it . Pigmentation is correct, there’s not much fallout. They’re not the smoothest eyeshadows I’ve ever used but I didn’t have any problems blending them. Also, I wouldn’t say that these color scream “tropics” to me but I think it’s a great palette to incorporate to your daily use. As far as staying power goes it’s correct. They do crease a bit after 3 hours but a good primer should fix that problem easily.
Last thing, I am usually not a fan of “striped” eyeshadow palettes (I don’t know what’s the appropriate term? Help me?) and it’s actually the first time I use one and…I didn’t dislike it. I don’t prefer it, but it’s ok ;-)
Summer Sunset Bronzing Powder – 35$
The Bronzing Powder comes in the same cute mini-clutch as the eyeshadows. I thought it would be too light for my skin tone but it’s actually a great illuminator. It gives my skin a soft satiny golden glow. It’s simply gorgeous.
Summer Drops Translucent Gloss – 18$
Creamy texture, sheer pigmentation, great shine and good staying power (3 hours with a coffee). I tried the Smoothie shade, a nice nude and like it a lot. This one comes in two other shades fuchsia Dragon Fruit and orange Tangerine.
Summer Sunset Jumbo Eye Pencils – 19$
LOVE IT. It comes in three shades; I tried Sunshine, a nice shimmery golden, and it has now become my go-to tear-duct area color. Whether I have an elaborate eye-makeup for the day or just eyeliner and mascara it really wakes up my eyes. It also works very well as a base to make your eyeshadow stick and the colors pop. Apply after a primer and you’re good to go.
