This is a review that is long overdue. This is one of the many products I received at a StudioMakeup presentation right before leaving for Italy last spring and after that I got sidetracked and got away from the blog for a while.
But now that I’m back I need to review this lipstick from StudioMakeup that happens to be a perfect shade for fall. In case you do not know about StudioMakeup you can find their products in the United States and Canada (in Montreal’s mainly in Jean Coutu stores). I did not know much about the brand before trying it but it’s definitely worth a look. They have products from makeup, to brushes and nail color and their price point is above the average for drugstore products but still acceptable (the average lipstick goes for 15$ for instance). See their website here for more information.
So, I will review a few StudioMakeup products in the near future, but I wanted to start with the one I have sed the most: Velour Lipstick in Rich Burgundy.
Velour Lipsticks are deeply pigmented and creamy lipsticks with semi-matte finish. The application is very pleasant as the lipstick glides on effortlessly. The formula is creamy and leaves the lips feeling somewhat hydrated. I also really like this shade I have, Rich Burgundy and have used it a lot. The only issue I can point out is the wear. It did not resist to coffee drinking or eating in any way and I have gotten used to reapplying it during the day. And seeing that it retails for 15$ I would say that it is somewhat of an issue of course. Be that as it may, I am almost at the end of my tube, and that’s a pretty good thing because I rarely finish a whole lipstick. It works very well with my complexion and is very easy to wear. I wear it with my trusted Nightmoth MAC lipliner.
