Sleek MakeUP is a makeup brand from the UK I discovered in Youtube video of a couple of ghanaian makeup tutorial gurus online BisaNation and BeautybyJJ. I was first drawn to the brand for their Contour Kit but, seeing that I could only get it from their website and get it shipped for a 13.50$ fee, I figured, why not get some other things and make it a more convenient fee! I am starting by a review of the contour kit, keep reading for a review of their Aruba Blush and Bad Girl I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette and see if Sleek MakeUP is sleek at all.
Sleek MakeUP Contour Kit
I am new to contouring. It’s about somewhat changing the shape of your face by playing with dark and light powders in order to create the illusion of shadows and highlights. I have a round face, full cheeks and contouring gives my face a slight slimming effect. If you are not blessed with well defined jaw or cheekbones, contouring will definitely help. (See here an example of contouring to the max…and maybe gone wrong!)
Sleek MakeUP’s Contour Kit comes in a small sturdy and sleek (well..yes they really managed to create packaging that fits the name of their brand perfectly) case with a mirror and a matte brown pressed powder and a slightly shimmery highlighter. The Contour Kit comes in Light, Medium and Dark shades and I got it in the Medium shade which gives the right amount of colour for me. So if you’re a NW47 in MAC or around, this might be the right colour for you as well.
UPDATE: While in Paris I was able to get some other palettes and also got the Contour Kit in Dark: it actually works better for me. I just have to swipe color once and I get the right amount to contour my cheeks. So I now would suggest the dakr if you ae a NW45-47
Does it stay on?
As far as staying power goes I kept it on for up to 7 hours, which, for me, gives it an A+
This contour kit costs 10$ and I happily added it to my makeup kit and to my daily makeup routine. It might be illusion, but I do feel like it give me a slight Naomi Campbellesque look (it’s illusion) You have the option to get it with a dual end brush for 3 more dollars which I actually wish I had done because I apply both dark matte powder and highlighter with my blush brush and the dual ended brush avoids mixing up the colours or having to clean up the blush in between applications like I’m doing now.
