I was introduced to the world of Estée Lauder’s makeup last year when I attended the launch of the 2012 fall/winter collection. So this year I was delighted to get another invitation to their presentation because I knew it meant pure gorgeousness for my eyes to enjoy. I was lucky enough to get a few items to try and the first one I jumped on is the Pure Color Gelée Eyeshadow in Fire Sapphire. Fire Sapphire is a very vibrant electric blue with a gorgeous metallic shimmer. But this eyeshadow (like all the ones of the Pure Color Vivid Shine Collection) is not your usual powder, but a gelée: “a first-ever techno tri-blend formula that’s gel, powder and liquid in one.” It’s the same texture as the gorgeous Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelée that absolutely rocked my world when I first tried it last year. The Gelée is extremely smooth and silky, which makes the color highly blendable when dry. When wet, the pigmentation is unbelievable and you can use it for a) a hyper dramatic look b) as a gorgeous eyeliner for a more accessible look. Fire Sapphire is a color that cannot go unnoticed but, I have to say that the whole entire line of Pure Color Vivid Shine eyeshadows is unbelievable.
As you can see all the colors are interesting, Fire sapphire on the top right does pop a bit more but I would honestly buy every single one of those shades. Not only for the gorgeousness of the colors but also for the wear, the smoothness and silkiness of the formula and, last but not least, the gorgeous packaging. At 24$ each they do not come cheap at all but are, in my opinion, well worth it if you want to try this different formula. Fire Sapphire is a Limited Edition shade along with Arctic Sky (bluish Grey), Magenta (pink); Pop Pistacio (green), Cyber Ice (grey) and Lights Out (black) 8 other shades are available year round, including Cyber Teal which I am dying to get. Buy online here or find it in stores in August and September 2012 See swatches of Fire Sapphire here
