When it initially came out, the Fit Me Liquid Foundation did not have a shadedark enough for me. A few weeks ago, walking in the cosmetic aisle, checking out what was new, I saw that there was a new shade, number 360, that seemed to be just the right color for me. I obviously picked it up and am here to finally review it.
4 shades were added to the 14 original colors:
- Golden Beige 240
- Toffee 330
- Cappucino 340
- Mocha 360
I picked up Mocha, which is now darkest shade of the range. Obviously this isn’t much but at least we can hope that other shades will be added to the range in the future.
According to Maybelline
- Contains no oils, no waxes, no nonsense
- Natural, Light to medium coverage that leaves skin the way it was meant to be. Fresh, breathing, flawless.
- Exclusive transluscent base and lightweight pigments allow skin’s natural highs and lows to show through.
- New shades formulated specifically for women of color contain revolutionary 5-D pigment technology to balance your skin’s authentic tones and highlights.
Most of the shades offer an SPF18, except for some of the darker shades 330, 340 and 360.
Formula | The foundation is a very thin liquid that almost feels like nothing when applied to the skin. I was initially surprised by how thin the formula was at first but I really liked how easily I was able to apply the foundation. The liquid seems to melt onto your skin and the coverage is much better than I initially expected. I though I would have to conceal a lot to hide my dark spots but not at all, I would say that this foundation offers a medium to high coverage with very little effort. This is actually the foundation I have been using in the mornings I am more pressed for time and don’t have the extra minutes to conceal.
Shade | The 360 shade works for me but it is maybe a bit too red, but otherwise it is good enough for my NW45 ladies to give a try.
Finish | When it comes to the finish, this foundation leaves your skin looking dewy. If you’re looking for a matte finish this one is not for you. It also makes my pores look smaller and my skin look softer which is pretty good.
Oil control | As you know, one of my main areas of concern is oiliness. My face usually gets shiny really fast and I hate that. As you also may know, I am pregnant right now and I have noticed that my skin has been producing less sebum so I might have to update this statement in a few months. According to my experience so far, the Fit Me Liquid Foundation seems to not let too much oil out. My face is certainly not matte but I keep the dewy look all day long. My nose gets a little shiny 3 hours in but it’s nothing shocking. If you have really oily skin, like I usually do, I’m not sure you will like this foundation. But since my skin seems to be more on the “normal to combination” side these days, I would say that it is a great choice if you have that type of skin and like a dewy finish.
Longevity | I have worn it for full work days. I get more than 8 hours of wear
Packaging | One last thing: this foundation doesn’t have a pump. You know how much I dislike foundations without pumps. But since this one is pretty thin, it’s pretty easy to get the amount you need out…provided you don’t pour it all on your hand obviously. So…be careful ;)
