I have already talked about Maybelline Color Tattoos in this post. They have been one of the most interesting products I have seen in 2012 and was really happy to learn that Maybelline was going to come up with a new collection of five metallic shades for Spring 2013. I have received some of the shades and will review them in individual posts.
First up, Inked in Pink.
My first thought when I first saw it was that it looked a lot like another shade of Color Tattoos I own (and LOVE): Pomegranate Punk. But really, they’re totally different. See the pictures and swatch below.
Inked in Ink is a pale pink metallic shade. On my skin tone it almost ends up looking silver but hints of pink do break through. I found that this formula (the first of the Metals I have tried) is creamier and thinner than the other Color Tattoos I have tried before. I had much more difficulty applying this one evenly and while the regular Color Tattoos do not crease on me at all or really barely by the end of the day, this one started creasing quite early (2 hours in).
Even when layering a powder eyeshadow on it, it did crease a bit. So, contrary to the other Color Tattoos, I’d have to use a primer with this one! Which kinda goes against the claim of a color “tattoo”. I think that this formula just might be too creamy for it to set.
But I still found a way to use it and make it work. I recently bought a /2/” target=”_blank”>Milani Runway Eyes eyeshadow in Peaches & Cream. It is also a metallic peachy pink that doesn’t do much on its own (review coming up…) but it looks gorgeous over Inked in Ink… Problem solved! lolz
Do you have the same issue I have with this Color Tattoo?
