I have said it before, I used to be very cheap when it came to brushes. But the more I experimented with makeup, the more I could understand the value of having appropriate tools to apply my make up and especially my foundation. The right brush definitely makes a difference. I further understood that after the Make Up For Ever Foundation Nation Event when the make up artist used just a couple of pumps of foundation to cover my whole face. I initially thought it was due to the texture of the foundation or maybe due to the primer she applied prior to the foundation. But when I got home with the #106 Medium Foundation Brush from the Make Up For Ever Artisan Face Brushes Collection I realized that it was the brush that helped spread the product evenly and thinly and also helped blend the foundation seamlessly. I gained a couple of minutes on my foundation application every morning AND as an added bonus, this brush is really easy to clean.
I used to prefer the stippling brush or a flat top brush to work the foundation into my skin but really this brush has me questioning my preferences.
This brush retails for 41$. It’s not cheap but it’s not outrageous. While I wouldn’t spend this amount on a eye brush, this one is for foundation and it feels and looks really durable…therefore I’d say it is worth the price.
This brush is part of the new MUFE Artisan Brushes collection which was five years in the making. These are 100% fiber brushes and are available in 76 styles. I like the wooden tips and the softness of the bristles. It is the only foundation brush I have been using for the past month and if I were to loose it…I’d buy it again.
