Meet the Blue Sepia Palette. Released at the end of the summer, this limited edition palette from Make Up For Ever has 8 eye shadows. They are mainly in the browns and sepias with one very dark black, a shimmery light pink and a gorgeous teal color. The eyeshadows are matte and satin textures and two of the shades are adapted for eyebrow make-up.
The palette initially doesn’t look like much. The Petrol Blue shade obviously catches the eye but the rest of the shades seem pretty standard. Interestingly enough though, since I received it, the Blue Sepia palette has not left my makeup bag. I basically use it every day. All the eyeshadows (with the exception of Petrol Blue) are part of the permanent MUFE collection but it’s nice to have them all in one palette. Here are the shades:
- #128 Copper Fawn – a peach-tan shiny shade
- #28 Coffee – matte reddish brown
- #152 Light Pink – very light baby pink
- Petrol Blue – shimmery teal with gold tones
- #04 Black – matte black
- #98 Brown – matte brown
- #17 Espresso – matte cool deep brown
- #127 Metallic Taupe – shiny taupe
You can use all the colors for a neutral eye or for a dramatic smoky look. And the Petrol Blue can add a nice pop of color for a special night out.
The eyeshadows are all greatly pigmented, they have a soft and blendable texture with no fallout at all. As you can see the browns do show up on my skin, although when I first looked at the colours in the pan I was pretty skeptical. As far as staying power goes I get an solid 8 hour wear with minimal creasing without a primer.
This is a lovely little palette and I would definitely purchase it. I also like the actual size of the palette which fits in my hand.
Lovely product. I’m loving Make Up For Ever lately ;)
