I recently received the Glam Balm Hand Cream by Rodial and had, from a goodie bag a dear friend and beauty editor gave me, the Complex Caviar OcéAnge hand cream. So they have recently been my go to creams: the Rodial one in my purse and the OcéAnge in my room, next to my bed. It’s been a few weeks now and you’re probably wondering: if she’s using such luxurious creams she must have super soft hands now? Well read on to get the answer.
Rodial Glam Balm Intensive Brightening Hand Cream
[box] Rodial glam balm™ HAND is an innovative hand cream that gently repairs, protects and moisturises skin. Olive Leaf Extract & Vitamin C correct sun damage & minimise imperfections, while Vitamin E contains anti-ageing properties that revitalise & protect skin from environmental harm. Grapeseed Oil & Shea Butter nourish and moisturise skin, ensuring hands are silky soft.[/box]
It smells good. It smells GOOD. I love it. It does hydrate your hands quickly, does not leave a greasy finish at all and that is great about it too. Most of the hand creams I have used (which are usually the Glysomed or Neutrogena regular drugstore creams) leave your hands sticky and greasy. I have often felt embarrassed when shaking a someone’s hand right after putting on cream and feeling my own hand slipping away or quickly cleaning it on my pants before presenting it…not glamorous at all. This does not happen with the Glam Balm. But then again, do I feel that my hands are super soft after applying it? I don’t. And personally that’s what I’m looking for in a hand cream. Especially when it has the word “balm” in it. I’m expecting it to feel…well, luxurious. But it does hydrate my skin beautifully and smells fabulous so yeah I like it. I do not have particular imperfections on my hands and definitely do not have sun spots so I cannot say that it helps with any of that, but by any means, if you can afford to spend 39$ on a hand cream, try it.
Would I buy it again? Personally I would not spend 39$ on a hand cream, but I like it enough to recommend it to those who are willing to do so :)
OcéAnge Crème hydratante pour les mains Caviar Complex
Océange is a french brand born in the south of France in 2004. In 2008 they launched their Caviar Complex anti-aging line: it was an immediate success. The line of products contains hyaluronic acid and spirulina, a micro-algae with powerful anti-oxidant and anti-radical properties which are both ingredients we now find in quite a few anti aging products. To that they added their “secret ingredient”: the caviar complex that contains 47 vitamins and minerals. They come from three different origins, beluga, sevruga and ossetra caviar, each with its own qualities. Another franch brand La Prairie is also know for their 341 euros Caviar anti-aging cream. Océange’s version and less expensive and, from what I’ve read, the reviews are better too.
Again, the cream feels good, not greasy, smells good (but I still prefer the Rodial balm, but that’s a question of personal preference) I like the packaging to use it at home. The only thing is, again, it does not leave skin particularly soft. It does not make you want to massage your hands with it and enjoy the moment. It absorbs very quickly, which can be considered a good thing, but for me, I want a hand cream that will leave my hands soft, not just hydrated. Does that even make sense? Really what I mean is that if it wasn’t for the smell I wouldn’t even know I had just put a cream on my hands.
I do not have the price of this cream simply because it is not sold on their website. You can buy the rest of their Caviar Complex Line here!
