This is the first of a series of reviews of products from Lise Watier’s line Summer Sunset 2012 collection.
Lise Watier is a Canadian brand of cosmetics created right here, in Montreal Quebec. Lise Watier the woman behind the brand, created a beauty institute in 1968, then launched her brand in 1972 always focusing on her mission: making women feel beautiful and confident.
I remember using a couple of Lise Watier products in the past: a cleanser and a moisturizer that I purchased a few times before moving on to another product. I’m trying to remember but it was a while ago and I have not formed a precise opinion on Lise Watier’s products. The only thing I can say is that I have never been particularly drawn to the brand. That’s why I was pretty interested in trying their Summer Sunset line when I received it last week.
I’m starting the reviews with their nail polish in Tangerine which is, as you know, a very trendy color. Let me start by saying that I did not even know Lise Watier had nail polish. So that’s discovery number 1.
I applied the nail polish and loved it. The application was smooth, the texture of the polish is perfect, not too thin not too thick. The pigmentation is okay although I did have to apply three coats to get to the result you see in this picture. The applicator is a classic shape, medium sized and allows for an easy application. Staying power is good. It’s been 48 hours and I have no peeling or chipping to report yet.
All il all, it’s a good nail polish and I like the color. This polish is part of the Summer Sunset collection and comes in two shades (Tangerine and Dragon Fruit) in a limited edition.
Now the review could end here because, as I usually do, I tried the products before reading the press release. But when I read the press release a few minutes ago I was like “dang!” I missed something. See, the cap has a little kind of…I don’t even know how to say it…a dent?!?! You see it right there on the picture. At first, I thought that it was meant to help open the bottle. But it is not that simple y’all. It’s actually…a light! Isn’t it the cutest thing ever? And it actually is quite helpful to me since I am always doing my nails in the semi-darkness caused by the *romantic* dim lighting of my living room.
Now this polish goes for 12.50$. Is it worth it? If you like this specific color AND if you’re a sucker for gimmicks (like I am) then yes it might be worth it. I cannot honestly say that it is un unforgettable color or formula but the light does it for me. I wish I had it on all my polishes. Good job Lise Watier!
