This product is also part of Lise Watier’s Summer Sunset Collection. The Duo Glam Rouge Infini is part lip stain, part matte lipstick and comes in a very pretty packaging; the metal/animal print casing feels very high end and looks very very pretty.
As usual, I didn’t read the press release before trying it. I thought it was a lipstick/lipgloss duo (I even wrote it on instagram -_- ), so I proceeded to apply the lipstick then headed to apply the *lipgloss*. That’s when I realized that the liquid, watery, sweet thing I was applying on top of my lipstick certainly wasn’t gloss. I then read the press release (again…after the fact) only to find out that it wasn’t gloss, it was a lip stain, hence the thin liquid texture.
I tried the Rose Ombré shade and the stain did not show on my lips at all. No color at all. Since my lips are quite pigmented I tried it, the next day, on the back of the hand of my much paler Canadian-Irish co-worker, but again, the stain was extremely sheer, almost transparent. So, to be honest, I did not care at all for the stain part of the Lise Watier Duo Glam Rouge Infini. BUT, I did my research online and, apparently, the darker shades of this lipstain seem to have better pigmentation as you can see on this blogger here.
The lipstick is much better. It has a soft matte finish, it’s quite pigmented. I thought the application of the lipstick was very pleasant even though I had to mix it with a gloss to blend it properly on my lips. The Rose Ombré shade I tried is a bit too pink and light for my personal taste but I plan on mixing it with darker lipsticks to make it work.
I’m gonna be honest. I wish they would just get rid of the sweet tasting lip stain (because it tastes very sweet and I did not care for the taste either) and replace it with a gloss. With that replacement, the Duo Glam Rouge Infini becomes a fabulous product. And, even more important, with that replacement it ends up being worth the 27$ it costs. Without it, it just feels like a very expensive lipstick in a very big (pretty, but big) package. So I suggest you try the darker shades and definitely swatch it on your skin if you’re dark skinned.
