You have probably heard of Bio-Oil. Women (and men) all over the world use it to treat stretch-marks and scars and many consider it a miracle product. While I have never used it, I have found myself recommending it to friends as a possible remedy for stretch marks simply because their branding is so strong. Who in North America has never heard of Bio-Oil? Seen an ad? Know what it does. You gotta respect their hustle.
When I received 3 products from Lipidol I was very intrigued by their packaging at first. Clear, clean, plastic bottles wrapped in little plastic bags. I am a sucker for clean and simple packaging.
I will review all three products but let’s start with the cleansing face oil. It is a light oil meant to be applied on a dry face. Massage it into your skin, your eyes, your lashes, your lips, your neck and see the make up melt. After a minute of working the oil in, add a few drops of water and the oil turns into an emulsion; then rinse. No oily residue is left on your face and…no make up or dirt. How do I know? I move on to toning my skin and can find little to no makeup residue left on my cotton pad. You’ve guessed it, I-LOVE-THIS-PRODUCT. It has basically cut my makeup removal time in half and I love the idea of cleaning my face with an oil. I have used coconut oil in the past but never stuck with it. What I love most is that using the Lipidol Cleansing Face oil requires me to massage my face. That the oil feels nourishing and not stripping. And especially, that my skin feels clean without feeling dry or greasy. Just clean and moisturized. I love this product.

The first ingredient is Paraffinum Liquidum, also known as mineral oil. When I first read it, I got scared. It’s derived from petroleum, could it be bad for me? My skin? My health? Will it clog my pores? So I asked google and got the answers I needed. Read below:
I have been using this oil every night for the past month and have only good things to say about it. It is lightly scented with rosemary and niaouli essential oils and while it is not a natural or organic product (which I usually prefer lately) it makes me feel good and it does what it promises which is removing dirt and makeup without stripping the skin’s natural oily layer.
Added bonus: it is very affordable at 8.97$ for a 125 ml bottle. Buy online here
