While I am a lover of make up, nail polish and all cosmetics, I have to say that the only area where I usually take risks is skincare. I will try EVERYTHING to fix a problem. I will research it thoroughly of course, but if someone, somewhere said it worked for them, I will give it a chance.
I am much less of an adventurous gal when it comes to make up and nails. I have never tried false lashes, no glitter and colored eyeliners and as far as nail colors go I’m a “Red/French manicure” type of girl. I sometimes used to go to the nails salon with the intention of trying something new but, alas, they just did not have the colors I wanted to try. So I always ended up leaving the salon my regular red nails on.
Ever since I have my own UV lights and do my nails at home though, all of this has changed. I am now quite the adventurous girl and, when I was asked to choose some colors from the brand new Quo by Orly nail polish line, I went all pop and fun.
If you live in Canada you definitely know Quo; Shoppers Drug Mart exclusive line of color cosmetics and cosmetic accessories. They are know for their brushes and makeup and they worked with Orly International, a specialist of nail color and treatments that has been in business for the past 35 years, to create their own nail polish snd treatments line. Smart move by Quo to associate itself with Orly as they will be learning and profiting from the years of experience of Orly (which has launched a Gel Polish line that is, according to the reviews I have read, better than CND…I’ll test it and tell you ;)).
I received Lilac Lust, Green Meadow, True Love; the glittery First Class and the Strong Bond rubberized basecoat which is supposed to stick and hold your nail polish. I immediately tried and fell in love with Lilac Lust which you can see in the “not so good” picture here. I absolutely love the color, the polish dries fairly quickly even though it has a thick consistency. The finish is shiny and, 3 days in, it still shines. I also love that the bottles have a rubberized handle which makes it easier to open.
I will soon try the other colors and will add the pictures and reviews to this post. You can get them for 10$ at the nearest Shoppers Drugmart ;)
