As you know, after the lipbalm, lipstick, lipgloss, and lipstain, the market has now been flooded with the jump lip pencil.
Every major brand has created their version and most of them really translate, for me at least, as “redesigned and highly pigmented lipbalms”. I have tried a few and liked most of them, mainly because I have low expectations when it comes to them. So when I received the Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Plum Twist I wasn’t expecting anything really special. But hey, I’m getting a lot of use out of this product and, mainly because of the shade I got.
The product itself feels like a very pigmented lipbalm. On my lips it feels moisturizing and I liked its slight heaviness. Let me explain this: I don’t like heavy lip products but I like it when I somewhat feel that I do have something on my lips. As I told you here, I have a tendency to touch and bite my lips so when I feel that product is coating it, I am less prone to do so. That’s why I kinda like how the Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm feels on me.
There is a slight sheen to it, I wouldn’t say it is glossy or shiny. Also, the packaging is quite standard for the jumbo lip pencils on the market: it has a swivel mechanism, meaning you won’t need to sharpen it. Only issue I had, the stick of color sometimes fell out of the package altogether. But I was able to get it and put it back in.
As far as staying power goes, you do have to apply it at least every two hours to a maximum of two hours and a half.
Except for that I think that this is a fine product really. I am curious to try other shades and see if they are as pigmented as Plum Twist.
Did you try it? Liked it? Not? Let me know!
